Millions of workers of all ages suffered job losses in the coronavirus-driven recession, small and even big companies. As we all feel the pain and struggles, theirs this group who suffered in silence: young workers
In the Philippines, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) stated that at least 2.6 million workers have already been “temporarily or permanently displaced” from their jobs.
While we cannot exact the figures on youth unemployment resulting from the pandemic, we can all agree that young Filipino workers are not immune to the economic fallouts resulting from this generation’s biggest health crisis.
But it didn’t stop this young lady who lost her job amid the pandemic.
She then decided to sell egg sandwiches around Ilocos Norte using a “food jeep”
And now she earns almost Php6,000 daily.
