A daughter of a pedicab driver in Bicol graduated college as a Magna Cum Laude.

Sandra Estefani Ramos graduated as a Magna Cum Laude in Bicol State College of Applied Sciences and Technology. She took up Bachelor in Secondary Education.

A lot of netizens were amazed and truly touched by the story of Sandra’s life.


According to Sandra, there are so many students who are really better and smarter than her. But because of her father’s determination and perseverance to give her a good education, that became her inspiration to do well in college.

“Until now, I did not know how I was able to achieve this award. Even if I know that there are other students more intelligent than me, I still do my best. Even if I didn’t know how, I do know the people who are the reason why I became Magna Cum Laude,” said Sandra in an interview.


According to her mother Cyril Ramos, she noted that her husband Renato, always prioritized her daughter’s expenses at school such as projects and fares; and the rest of the money he’ll save for food expenses.


In addition to this, a School Associate Professor who knows Sandra only has good things to say about her. Professor Ronnie Rubi, describes Sandra as a humble and simple person, who has experienced many trials in life.
