They say blood is not always thicker than water. Sometimes, we can choose who to call a “family”.
Those are the kind of people, who you do not expect to be there for you, when you are in need.
Just like in this scenario, where an employer-employee relationship is more than what it seems.
Actress Iza Calzado shares her appreciation and gratitude towards her kasambahay, Donna Garcia.
On the pilot episode of “Paano Kita Mapasasalamatan“, Iza told Judy Anne how much she is grateful for Donna. And how she helped her survive COVID-19.
Last March, the actress tested positive for coronavirus, and was admitted to the hospital for recovery. During that time, it was Donna who assisted her and helped took care of her.
According to Iza, Donna’s family wanted her to come home to avoid getting infected.
However, Donna stayed with her regardless of the situation.
Iza said she appreciates what Donna has done for her, even risking her life to be by her side.
Furthermore, Iza also shared that Donna has been a loyal and faithful to her and her brother, that she decided to return the gesture.
To show her gratitude, Iza gave a copy of her house key to Donna, as a symbol that they are now a family.
The actress said this gesture meant Donna is welcome to her home anytime and no matter what.
“Donna, paano ba kita mapasasalamatan? Hindi ko alam kung sapat ba ang mga salita, ang yakap, at kung anuman na puwede kong ibigay sa iyo. Ang dami mong isinakripisyo para sa amin. Sa amin mo ibinigay iyong pagmamahal mo at taos-puso akong nagpapasalamat,” Iza said.
(Donna, how can I thank you? I don’t know if words are enough, or if there’s something I could give you. You’ve sacrificed a lot for us. You gave us your love and I am wholeheartedly grateful)
Donna has been serving Iza for two and a half years already.
