Parents will do anything and everything just to give their family a better life. Yet sometimes, we tend to take it for granted, unconsciously. But most of the time, we have no idea what sacrifices they have to make in order to provide for us.
Just like the story of this security guard, who recently went viral because of his unusual meal.
On the Facebook page of “Soul I Adventures“, a netizen named Ralph Reymond Hermano Getanes shared photos of a security guard, eating junk food for dinner.
In his post, he also narrated the conversation they had. It goes:
Me: Bas, Chicherya ulam mo? (Bas, you’re having junk food?)
Him: Uo Sir. Ang dami ko kasing sinu.suportahan sa COTABATO Sir. (Yes Sir. I have a lot of people to support in Cotabato)
Me: Baka magkasakit ka niyan, straight duty ka pa naman. (You’ll get sick by doing that, you even have straight duty today)
Him: Sanay na ako Sir. Di bale, balang araw pag makatapos sila, SANA HINDI NA GANITO. Inshallah (I’m used to it Sir. Don’t worry, someday when my kids graduate, I hope its not going to be like this anymore)
A lof of netizens were touched by the security guard, and admired him for being a noble man who is willing to sacrifice his health just so he could send money to his family in Cotabato.
On the photos, you can see him eating only Ding Dong Mixed Nuts, a popular Filipino snack, with rice. Because of this, a lot of netizens offer to help him and even tried to contact him.
One of the netizens revealed that the security guard’s name is Aries Abas and that he works in a four-story shopping mall in Lanang, Davao City.
Based on JobStreet, a security guard’s salary ranges from PHP 9,000-13,000 ($177-255) a month – depending on the experience and position.
