On Saturday, April 25, parts of Benguet encountered some hail.

Barangay Ekip in Bokod town and Barangay Bashoy in Kabayan town witnessed the beautiful phenomenon.

The precipitation is heavy enough that the ground appear as though they are coated with snow.

The phenomenon is a common occurrence in the region, but typically occurs between May and July, according to the PAGASA.

“Mas malalaki pa kesa sa mais. Yearly naman itong nangyayari sa amin pero mas madami saka mas malalaki ngayong taon,” said one of the townfolk. (It is bigger than corn. This happens yearly in this area, but it is bigger and thicker this year)

On Facebook, a netizen named Arnel Guiniawan posted photos of the phenomenon. The beautiful set of photos looked like they were taken from a European country.

Some photos even looked like they were straight from a medieval themed movie or series.

The Philippines is a tropical country, therefore, we do not have winter here. But, it would be nice to experience snow every now and then.
