A noble dad recently went viral after doing the sweetest thing for his son.

On Facebook, a netizen named Edwin Bayson shares how he made the effort just to give his son something he has been asking for.

Tatay Edwin, 50, proudly shares how he was able to save up enough money so he can buy a phone for his son, Darwin.

(Congrats son, I really saved up for that for your graduation. I gave up a lot of alcohol, just so I can save up and buy you a cellphone that you have been asking for)

According to Tatay Edwin, he is a tricycle driver and whatever he earns from it, he used it to buy his son’s cellphone.

Dati, pahinante [ako] ng truck, helper, pero nawalan na ‘ko ng trabaho kaya ginawa [ko nang] extra-extra [ko sa tricycle] pumasada,” Tatay Edwin told ABS-CBN News.

(I used to be a truck porter, but I lost my job. That is why I tried to look for extra work)

Due to the enhanced community quarantine, he was able to save up for 4 months. He used to earn PHP 150-200 per day before the lockdown, but now he earns as low as PHP 25-50.

In addition to this, Tatay Edwin shares that his son hasn’t owned a cellphone for 6 years now. And only uses Pisonet to surf the internet.

That’s why he told himself that he would save up, no matter how long it takes, just to give his son what he wants.

Furthermore, Tatay Edwin also shares that his son Darwin, 20, loved his graduation gift. He even joked that he would pay him back with a brand new car, once he gets a job.

Tatay Edwin’s post touched a lot of netizens that it went viral.
